Mansfield has suffered terribly with the loss of so many of its traditional industries and it takes communities a lot of hard work, determination and not some little time to recover a sense of hope for a bright future.
A vibrant, local Mansfield Community Radio will help instill a sense of pride, worth and optimism by:
GIVING a voice to those who have little or no access to mainstream media.
PROMOTING local businesses.
OFFERING work experience to students at all stages in their career.
PROVIDING a reliable source of trustworthy local news and information.
ENCOURAGING community and 'neighbourliness', thereby increasing social inclusion.
BUILDING confidence and self-esteem.
INSPIRE Mansfield people to fully participate in the democratic process both locally and nationally.
AFFORDING opportunity and training to all living and working in or near Mansfield WITHOUT DISCRIMINATING against age, sex, religion. ethnic background or disability, or people participating in the station's activities as a hobby, a stepping stone to a career or just to improve social activity.
